A coalition of supporters and experts pushed for a measure to promote cleaner fuels on Thursday as the legislation gains some traction in both houses of the state Legislature.
The bill, NY S2962 (21R) / NY A862 (21R), would incentivize vehicles and machines to operate using more carbon-neutral fuels like biofuels while the state pushes to get more elective vehicles on the road. Other states, including all three on the West Coast, have implemented a clean fuel standard and it was included in this year's recommendations to New York’s Climate Action Council.
